Praise for “Fair Balance”

Teenage rebellion becomes a fight for one sibling's soul. Kirkland drew me into the story from the beginning, but what I loved most about this story was that it did not take the easy ending. Karina Fabian, editor of Infinite Space, Infinite God

My favorite above all was “Fair Balance,” by S. M. Kirkland. Celisa and her brother Cain, at odds with each other from the start, must choose sides when it comes to their family and their faith. I’m a sucker for twists and this one delivers big time. Karri Compton, Reviewer, Fiction Fanatics Only

“Fair Balance,” by S.M. Kirkland, involves a modern gothic girl who no longer attends
church with her mother and brother since starting college and making new friends. But
who is right? The answer will surprise you. Timothy A. Hicks, author, reviewerHic

Another of the stories with a twist, it may be one that you don’t realize until the final scene because of the intentional use of ‘un-acceptable’ clothing and the prose that makes one hold the introduced characters in a distasteful manner until you realize that looks and manner should not be confused as to who is good or bad.
